Jacobs Road Elementary School is looking for some smiling faces for the 2011 football season!!!

Children between 5-14 years of age can join a Jacobs' cheerleading squad without a tryout or prior cheering experience. Children will be taught cheers and dances that incorporate stunt safety, strong motions, beautiful jumps, and voice projection. Along with teaching the fundamentals of cheerleading we like to spread school spirit with our homecoming celebration, emphasis on good
sportsmanship, create a positive feeling of self worth, and surround the kids with laughter.

Sign ups will be held at Jacobs Road Elementary from 5:30-7:30 on June 9th, 14th,
16th, 23rd and 30th. Save $20 by registering by June 30th!!

• Cheerleaders will be placed in a squad based on their age. You must be 5 years old by Dec. 31st, 2011 to participate and no older than 14 by Dec. 31st, 2011. Our flag squad will consist of 5-7 year olds, Minors are 8 & 9 year olds, Juniors are 10 & 11 years old, and Seniors are
  12-14 years old.


• Practices will start in July and will be 2-3 days a week lasting from an hour to hour and a half based on coaches discretion. Practices will be held in the early evenings. Interest in a preseason camp and gymnastics were expressed during the 2010 season and will be strongly considered for the 2011 season.


• Games start in September and will be every Saturday through November. Squads entertain the crowd with side line cheers and will perform a half time routine during the hour long game.


• We are proud to announce that the 2009 Jacob's Minor squad took 1st place in the Chesterfield Cheerleading League Spectacular and Matoaca Extravaganza. The 2009 Jacob's Junior squad also did an outstanding job and placed 3rd in the Chesterfield Cheerleading League Spectacular and Matoaca Extravaganza. If cheerleaders and parents are supportive and enthusiastic about competitions we will continue with this honored tradition in 2011.


• Registration fees for the 2011 season are $130. Uniforms will be rented out for a $150 refundable deposit. The same uniforms will be used from the 2010 season so if your child has a 2010 uniform that is in great condition and still fits you will not need to put forth the deposit. If a parent wishes to purchase a uniform for their child the cost will be $175.


• If you are interested in supporting Jacobs Cheerleading by volunteering to be a Coach, Asst. Coach, or Junior Coach we would love for you to join our team! No experience is necessary; just a desire to be a part of something special.
